Serra Grande

Between Ilhéus and Itacaré, in southern Bahia.

The territory came before the project.

Serra Grande sits inside the Itacaré–Serra Grande Environmental Protection Area, at the edge of Serra do Conduru State Park. The jangada sailboats go out at dawn. Century-old cocoa farms are still in production. The Atlantic Forest runs down to the sand.

The road that follows the coast.
Community

Who lives here

Serra Grande is a community before it is a destination. Fishermen who still sail jangadas. Samba players. Craftspeople who work bamboo and coconut. Gardeners and healers. Revista Serra Grande has documented this knowledge for years. It is with these people that the hotel will be built and run.

Coast, waterfall, forest and beach. Serra Grande from above.
